Project Description
THE DRIVEN
WOMEN PROJECT

We want every woman and girl to see themselves in the stories of a successful woman and realize that it’s ok to be yourself, in fact, it’s the only thing that works.

How do we disrupt the gender imbalances still found in male-dominated industries like STEM fields, medicine, politics, etc.? We increase the visibility of some otherwise not so widely known role models who have successfully navigated these careers, with the purpose of forging a stronger, more relatable connection that will serve to empower young women to forge similar paths of their own.

These women have excelled in industries, and jobs that are typically associated with men. In these masculinized arenas, they have held their own, ruthlessly lived their truths, and are unapologetic about their femininity. They own their identities. I’ve spoken with them about their journeys, their struggles, their ambitions, and their thoughts on how to close the gender gap in these fields.
These women currently live in the U.S. where I personally interviewed and photographed them (Boston, Seattle, Utah, Nebraska, San Francisco, Orange County, CA, Connecticut, etc), but with an eye toward diversity and inclusion, they originally hail from all over the world (Pakistan, Romania, Israel, and the U.S.), have different backgrounds growing up, and have made a variety of different lifestyle choices.
As of January 2019, I’ve completed 13 interviews and counting, so please enjoy the VERY FIRST installment of Driven Women Project below. New installments are posted every six weeks.

“It’s funny because I’ve heard from men so many times that too much talking isn’t helpful. I reject that notion. And now, since I launched WaterSlyde™ in 2012, it has been written up in magazines all over the world, and I have gone on radio shows with audiences of 4 million people.”
